Blue Eye High School has a big day at the Class 1 District Cross Country Meet Saturday in Lamar as the school grabs top team and individual honors in both the Boys and Girls Races.
The Boys capture the team title lead by Ryan Cardenzana who won the individual first place medal with teammates Jadon Weaver and Roman Ray also placing in the top 10. Galena finished third, School of the Ozarks Fourth with both schools qualifying runners for the State Meet this week.
The Blue Eye Girls dominated their race claiming not only the team title but the top three spots in the individual race with Riley Arnold, Avery Arnold, and Braylynn Siericks grabbing those medals. Teammates Olivia Labrier and Emma Bumpas also finishing in the top 10.
The Class 2 and 3 Races also took place in Lamar on Saturday. In Class 2, Sam Shuman won boys medalist honors leading the Owls to a third place team finish while Forsyth finished in sixth place in the team standings.
In Class 3 Boys, area team finishes included Cassville 4th, Monett 6th, and Reeds Spring 10th. In Class 3 Girls, area team finishes include Cassville 5th, Aurora 6th, and Monett 8th. Runners from Aurora and Cassville as well as Hollister were among those who qualified for the State Meet.
Class 4 Schools had Sectional Compeition in Joplin on Saturday with both Branson teams taking 8th place.
