Customers in the PSWD #3 Water District are advised to Boil Water after a loss of pressure in the water line over the weekend.
According to information shared on-line, the area affected are Bee Creek Road, Bird Road, and Branson Hills Parkway.
A post on the Water District’s Web Site advises customers to take the following precautions before consuming the water:
- Boil water vigorously for three (3) minutes prior to use. Use only boiled water for drinking, brushing teeth, diluting fruit juices and all other food preparations or consumption. Use of bottled water may be a feasible though relatively expensive, alternative to boiling tap water.
- Do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker or use any ice made with unboiled water from this system. Remake ice cubes with water that has been boiled or buy ice.
- Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one (1) minute in tap water that contains one (1) teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.
- Let the water cool before drinking.
The advisory will remain in effect until testing of the water is complete to ensure no bacteria has entered the system.
