Alzheimers Arkansas

Alzheimer’s Arkansas, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has scheduled the Harrison Hope for the Future Caregiver Workshop for Friday from 8:30 to 3 in the Hammerschmidt Center on the south campus of North Arkansas College.

The Hope for the Future workshops provide education, tools, training and support to family and professional caregivers to improve their skills regarding Alzheimer’s disease and its progression. The event is free for caregivers courtesy of the support of local vendors and sponsors.

Alzheimer’s Arkansas is offering mini-grants to cover the cost of daycare or in-home care on Friday to make the workshop accessible for all caregivers. Attendees can fill out a form and receive reimbursement following the workshop.

Continuing education credits will be available for nurses, nursing home administrators, occupational therapists and assistants, physical therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, emergency medical services, social workers and certified nursing assistants.
