The age to buy tobacco laws in Arkansas changes today.

The age goes up to 21 from 18. 17 other states say you have to be 21 to buy cigarettes and tobacco products.

KARK.com says the State Department of Health supports the change, saying the goal is to get people off of nicotine.

The new law applies to cigarette lighters, rolling paper, cigars, e-cigarette devices, and anything else related to tobacco.
