Week One of the High School Football Season means openers around the state of Missouri plus several schools in Arkansas that decided to kick-off their seasons this week. The Ozark Mountain Media Group of Stations have coverage of five games for the opening week:

The Goblins join the OMMG Stable of Schools as Goblin Football is airing on 1029 the Z. The Goblins are coming off an undefeated Regular Season in 2018 with the run ended in the 5A State Playoffs by Pulaski Academy. More on the Goblins season can be found on the previous story on Hometown Daily News Dot Com. Harrison tonight opens at Pea Ridge. Kick-off is at 7:00.

The Pirates are coming off a 2-8 season that started off strong but struggled with some injuries and strong competition at the end of the season. Besides the two victories, the Pirates nearly pulled off a huge upset at home against Webb City losing by two points. The Pirates have mix of returning and younger players that will take the field at home tonight against Republic, a team Branson beat in the opener last year only to have the Tigers turn the tables and knock the Pirates out of the first round of playoffs. Kick-off tonight is at 7:00 with the game broadcast on 106.3 KRZK.

Reeds Spring
The Wolves made another strong run into postseason before being beaten by Mount Vernon in the District Semi-finals. The Wolves have many skilled players to replace who have led the Wolves to tremendous success over the last few seasons, including last year’s 7-4 record. Two of those wins came against Nevada, a school they travel to open up the season tonight at 7:00. The game can be heard on MY 100.1.

The Tigers finished 4-6 in Coach Rick Adkins first season at the helm which included a big win in Week One against East Newton, tonight’s opening opponent. The other Tiger Highlights included a road win at Aurora and an overtime home win over Rogersville. The Tigers will play on the road tonight with kick-off at 7:00 and radio coverage on 981 FM/AM 1220 KCAX.

The Panthers have a new coach for their third season of Varsity Football as Andy McFarland takes over the reins after many years coaching in the Springfield Public School System. After a 4-5 inagural season in 2017, the Panthers playing a full season in a new conference struggled and did not see the winners circle. The Panthers will start their season at Mid-Lakes Conference Foe Skyline at 7:00. Tonight’s game can be heard on a replay Saturday Morning at 9:00 on 981 FM and AM 1220 KCAX.
