A Heat Advisory is in effect for the Ozarks this afternoon into the early evening hours.

Temperature readings will be in the mid 90’s with Heat Index Readings expected to be at 106 or possibly higher in some areas.

Many schools scheduled to start practices for the Fall Sports Season have moved the times and locations of those practices because of the expected excessive heat.

People are advised to stay hydrated and stay out of the heat as much as possible during the afternoon.

A front is expected to move through the area overnight bringing a slight chance of rain and cooler temperatures on Tuesday.
