Humana, V.F.W. and Silver Dollar City Join Local Nonprofits In Fighting Food Insecurity

Greg Pyron

This month, Silver Dollar City, Humana and the V.F.W. are joining with the Ozarks Food Harvest and the Salvation Army to raise funds and food for the Uniting To Combat Hunger Campaign. In Branson, donations are being accepted at the two Walmart locations (Highway 76 and Branson Hills Parkway) through August 26th.

In addition to cash, donors can give bottled water, cereals, canned foods, or bagged beans and rice.  Other needed items include baby diapers, soy based formula, and toilet tissue.

The V.F.W. launched this campaign to combat food insecurity last year, and it continues to serve more communities.  This month’s drive also includes Springfield, with drop off locations at the Walmart on Independence, the Hy-Vee store on West Battlefield and at the Humana Office on East Montclair.
