The American Heart Association (AHA) has once again recognized Cox Medical Center Branson for excellence in stroke care.
The hospital received AHA’s Get With the Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Honor Roll Elite for the third consecutive year.
“We are pleased to accept this award, which clearly defines the hard work and dedication our staff continues to deliver to our stroke patients and family members,” says Lacy Fears, coordinator of Cox Branson’s Stroke Center. “This reflects our commitment and success in implementing excellent care with measurable outcomes.”
To attain the Gold Plus distinction, staff had to achieve 85 percent or higher adherence to all Get with the Guidelines Stroke Achievement indicators for at least 24 consecutive months and achieve 75 percent or higher compliance with five of the 8 quality of care measures.
The Stroke Honor Roll Elite indicates that 75 percent or more of eligible ischemic stroke patients received the clot-busting medication t-PA within 60 minutes of arriving at the hospital.
“It’s so rewarding to stand beside my entire team and let each and every member be acknowledged for their participation in continuing to provide the best care for our community.
Cox South and Cox Monett were also recognized for excellence in stroke care.
