Wooden poles at Harrison Parks and the Fairgrounds will be inspected ahead of the 2020 scheduled date, after an incident in Clarksville in which a referee and student were injured when a pole fell on them during a soccer game, according to a news release from Harrison Parks and Recreation.

Officials say they want to be proactive and once the inspection is done they will determine whether to stay with wood or switch to metal. The parks and recreation director said he should get the report back in the next few weeks.
