While one of the Postseason Championships scheduled for this weekend involving area athletes is set to get underway, another has been suspended.

The Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield is hosting the State Tennis Championships with Forsyth’s Jarrett Teel along with Jon Deroo and Jordan Letterman set to participate in the Singles and Doubles Tournaments in Class 1.

Meanwhile the Class 3, 4, and 5 State Championships scheduled for Jefferson City have been moved due to the Tornado that damaged areas around Lincoln University, the site for the State Finals. The Missouri State High School Activities Association announced Thursday that the Class 3 Championships will be at the University of Missouri in Columbia while the Class 4 Meet will take place at Washington High School with the Class 5 Finals taking place in Columbia at Battle High School. All three meets will take place on Saturday.

Lakes Area Athletes from Hollister and Reeds Spring will compete in the Class 3 Meet while Branson Athletes are taking part in the Class 5 Competition.
