Despite the rain, several High School Baseball District Tournaments got underway in Missouri.
Despite being delayed three hours to get the field dried out, Hollister High School did get the opening round games of the Class 4 District completed with the host Tigers scoring a 4-1 win over Bolivar while Springfield Catholic ended the season for Reeds Spring winning 5-1.
Games also were completed in the Class 5 District in Springfield at Parkview High School as Ozark jumped on Branson for four runs in the first and eventually eliminated the Pirates in five innings 10-0. Nixa and Kickapoo were the other first round winners at Parkview.
One site that did postpone games scheduled for Saturday was Crane, as the Class 2 District Opening Round Games will now take place on Monday, with Pierce City playing Southwest at 5:00 and Crane matching up with Wheaton at 7:00.
Meanwhile in Tennis, the Singles and Doubles District Championships in Class 1 were played indoors at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield. Three Forsyth Players will move on to Sectional Competition Tuesday after second place finishes, Jarrett Teel in singles along with Jon Deroo and Jordan Letterman in doubles.
