A rainy weekend in the Ozarks included a brief period of snow in some areas.
A Winter Weather Advisory was issued for parts of the Ozarks for a brief period Sunday Morning as temperatures got cold enough for some of the precipitation to turn briefly to snow.
According to information from weather watchers reported to the National Weather Service office in Springfield, area of Barry Count around Butterfield and Cassville reported a quarter to a half inch of snow while similar amounts were reported around the Springfield area in Greene County. Up to an inch of snow was reported in some areas of Lake of the Ozarks.
Today will be a quick transition to warmer weather after some areas of the eastern Ozarks start this morning in a Frost Advisory. Temperatures are expected to quickly move into the 70’s this afternoon with strong southerly winds bringing in warmer air.
