Stone County voters elected candidates in number of contested races Tuesday. Donna J. Hardesty was named mayor of Branson West with 77 percent of the vote over Robert Smith. The City of Crane Mayor’s race went to J. Collin Brannan with 71 percent of the vote.
Reeds Spring school patrons elected Kim Steed and Perry Phillips to the Board of Education. Galena voters chose Jerimiah Doak and Steven Joseph Miller for their school board. Hurley okayed a $400,000 no levy increase bond issue for school improvements.
Other ballot questions approved included a de-annexation question for a parcel in Hurley. It passed with 62 percent of the vote. Kimberling City voters approved a measure that would not require a city election if a candidate files unopposed for a municipal office.
Other board positions filled included three members of the Indian Point Trustees. Elected were Richard Musil, Brett Lee Stump, and Helen Slagle. The Stone County E911 board members will be J Collin Brannan for the northern district and Brad Harrison for the southern district.
A general revenue city sales tax question for the Village of Coney Island did not receive a single vote.
