Lilleys’ Landing Resort & Marina will provide a great reason to go fishing by hosting a benefit tournament for Christian Action Ministries (CAM). CAM operates food pantries in Branson and Forsyth and mobile food outreach programs.
The tournament is set for Saturday, April 6, on Lake Taneycomo. All contestants will enjoy a meal provided by Lilleys’ Landing after fishing concludes.
The tournament will run from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. The fee to enter is $25 per person. The Tournament will feature three flights for different experience levels. The top three finishers of each flight will receive prizes. All proceeds from entries and boat rentals will go to CAM.
“This fishing contest is for friends to come out and enjoy a day on the lake fishing for trout,” explains Phil Lilley, owner of Lilleys’ Landing and CAM board member. “It also interjects a little friendly competition into the mix.”
Complete tournament details, registration, and sponsorship opportunities can be found at www.lilleyslanding.com or by calling Lilleys’ Landing Resort & Marina at 417-334-6380.
“The statistics on poverty and hunger are staggering for our county, and CAM is dedicated to getting to the heart of the issue, as well as providing the basic resources of food for our struggling neighbors,” Lilley says. “Please join us for a day of fellowship and fishing for this great cause.”
Feeding America, a hunger organization with a nationwide network of food banks feeding the hungry, reports that nearly 18 percent or 9,360 people in Taney County face food insecurity daily. More than 3,300 Taney County residents came to CAM for food assistance during the month of February.
