The College of the Ozarks Women’s Basketball Team made sure their stay in Sioux City, Iowa was longer than two games this season. After being upset in the second round of the NAIA Division Two Womens Basketball Championships last year, this year’s team took care of business by rolling by Hastings College 86-55 Friday night.
The Lady Bobcats pulled away in the second quarter and again relied on balanced scoring to get the win. Cassidy Johnson and Kelsie Cleeton eached scored 22 points while Abby Oliver added 19 for the Lady Bobcats. Cleeton and Madie Brethhower also notched double-doubles as Cleeton grabbed 12 rebounds to go with her scoring while Brethhower scored 11 points and also secured 12 rebounds.
The Lady Bobcats will take on Northwestern of Iowa in the quarterfinals Saturday at 8:00 pm in a game that will be heard on 106.3 KRZK.
