Dakota Howell, 21, of Harrison was arrested for an outstanding warrant and questioned in connection with a sexual extortion case from 2017. During the interview Howell admitted, with explanation and reasoning why, to extorting a female by posting pornographic recordings and pictures online.

After posting these recordings Howell shared links to them with multiple individuals and asked them to send the links to the victim and their friends.  He threatened to keep the recordings on the pornographic website until the victim dropped an order of protection against him, which is a violation of the order of protection itself.

He also violated the order of protection by visiting the victim’s residence and making multiple threats of serious physical injury which included torture. Howell bragged to multiple individuals that nothing could be done about the recordings and that he hadn’t broken any laws by posting them.

Police say he also physically battered the victim on at least one occasion.

He has been charged with Sexual Extortion, Retaliation Against a Witness, and Violation of an Order of Protection. He is currently being held on a $25,000 bond. If he is bonded out he will be required to wear an ankle monitor and have no contact with the victim.
