3 Harrison Teens Arrested for Theft

Three Harrison teenagers were arrested on Friday night for possession of stolen merchandise from Home Depot in Mt. Home, AR and possession of stolen property from a Harrison residence.

Sgt. Rodney Smith received a call about the three suspects heading west towards Harrison at 7:18 PM. Dylan Montgomery (19), Stephen Goings (19), and Taylor Slechta (19) were taken into custody on Friday night, February 15th, after being stopped by Patrolman David Alkire at the intersection on 65 Bypass and Hwy. 7 South. Alkire was assisted by Patrolmen John Morgan and Josh Applegate.

All three suspects were arrested, taken to jail and were later released on bond.

The charges and bond total for each suspect are as follows:

Dylan Montgomery – $3500

  • Felony Theft By Receiving

Stephen Goings – $3,380

  • Misdemeanor Theft By Receiving
  • Driving on a Suspended License
  • Driving without Insurance
  • 3rd Degree Escape
  • 3rd Degree Battery
  • Obstruction of Government Operation

Taylor Slechta – $660

  • Misdemeanor Theft By Receiving

Police Chief Chris Graddy said that Goings’ charges of 3rd Degree Escape, 3rd Degree Battery, and Obstruction of Government Operation took place at the police station as officers were taking him out of the patrol car.

Goings attempted to flee on foot after moving his handcuffs from his back to his front. He was apprehended by officers soon after and charged with the additional misdemeanor crimes.
