One of the items on last week’s Taney County Commission Meeting was an update on the activities and programs from the Taneyhills Library.
Library Director Marcia Schemper-Carlock presnted to Commissioners what has happened at the Library over the last few years, focusing on the time since a proposed Library Tax went down to defeat in 2013.
Among the items discussed was the continued growth of the library and with the aid of a $350,000 Grant from the Stanley and Elaine Ball Foundation, the ability to update the Children’s Area of the Library.
Schemper-Carlock also expressed the need for additional funding to improve staffing and for the possible expansion of the Library Facility on 4th Street in Branson.
Schemper-Carlock did express during the presentation to the Commission the desire to ask Taney County Voters again about passing a Tax Levy sometime in the next couple of years.
