Pro bass fisher Rick Clunn, 72, of Ava, won the Power-Pole Elite at St. Johns River competition in Florida Sunday afternoon.
Clunn broke his own record for being the oldest angler to win a Bassmaster Elite Series event with his first-place finish Sunday, a press release from Bassmaster media said.
The angler caught a total of 98 pounds, 14 ounces of bass fish over the four-day event to secure the victory.
This was Clunn’s 16th career victory, and put his career earnings at over $2.5 million at B.A.S.S. sanctioned events.
