The names have been released on the people that were involved in the Auto-Pedestrian Accident at Branson Landing Boulevard and Main Street Saturday that killed one person.

Sgt. Stanley Kauffman from the Branson Police Department stated in a press conference late Monday Morning that around 8:00 Saturday Night, a truck driven by Steven Weter of Hollister was traveling southbound on Branson Landing Boulevard when the truck struck three pedestrians entering the marked crosswalk. The pedestrians, Gregory Curnes, Laura Curnes, and Jean L. Moncrief were struck and all transported to a Springfield Hospital where Laura Curnes later died due to her injuries. According to Sgt. Kauffman, Gregory Curnes had surgery Sunday and is in serious condition while Jean Moncrief is listed in critical condition.

Per state law, Steven Weter submitted to a blood test for alcohol and while the test results are pending, Sgt Kauffman said there was no appearance of impairment on the driver’s part though he was checked out at Cox Hospital, Branson.

The Branson Fire Department and Taney County Ambulance along with the Missouri Highway Patrol Crash team assisted the night of the accident.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Branson Police Department. Anyone who witnessed this accident is asked to contact Sgt. Kauffman at 417-334-3300.
