From Saturday’s Local College Basketball Action:
-Another sweep for the College of the Ozarks as they wrapped up play in the C of O/A.I.I. Classic. The Woman, after struggling shooting the ball on Friday, came out on fire Saturday against Crowley’s Ridge and rolled to a 106-42 win that saw Cassidy Johnson lead the way with 25 points along with 20 from Abby Oliver. Kelsie Cleeton recorded a triple-double for the Lady Bobcats getting 10 points and rebounds along with 13 assists. In the Men’s game, the Bobcats jumped out to a huge lead that built to near 30 in the second half against Ecclesia College before the visiting Royals made things interesting going on a 20-3 run and cutting the lead to 11 before the Bobcats righted the ship and closed with a 98-84 win. Ethan Davidson poured in 40 points for the Bobcats and added 14 rebounds for a double-double. Meanwhile, Brandt Cochran added 29 points and Heath Carmichael added 21 including his 1000th Career Point.
-North Arkansas College saw their five game winning streak snapped on Saturday as they drop a 90-80 decision to ASU Mid-South at Pioneer Pavilion. The two teams played an even first half tied at 38 and the intermission only to see the visitors pull away in the second half to secure the win. Kenny Chambers was the leader on offense as he scored 26 points for the Pioneers, who lost for the first time since December.
