Crowded Field of Candidates Set to Run for Municipal Offices in Branson

A flurry of activity at the Office of City Clerk in Branson on Tuesday which was the final day for people to sign up to be on the ballot for Municipal Offices in the upcoming April Election.

Among the new entrants is longtime Branson Businessman Edd Akers, who entered the race for Mayor, where he will face incumbent Karen Best as well as Ray Eugene Eaton.

All three Alderman Positions and a partial one year Alderman Term will see contested races.

Incumbent Ward 1 Alderman Bob Simmons will face Marshall Howden for that seat while the Ward 2 Race will feature Lucas Case taking on Larry Milton to fill the seat of Chris Bohinc who is not seeking re-election.

Ward 3 will see two contested races as Kevin McConnell will face challenger Ruth Denham for his seat while Brian Clonts, who was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Betsy Seay last year, will face Janet Rackley to complete the final year of that term.

Municipal and School Board Elections throughout the state of Missouri will take place on April 2.
