The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) reports that 10 influenza-related deaths have been reported in Arkansas this flu season — this includes one pediatric death.

This total comes after four recent deaths were reported by Meg Mirivel, public information officer for the Arkansas Department of Health.

The four most recent deaths include two people in the age range of 65 and older and two people in the 45-64 age range.

Mirivel reported the state’s first pediatric flu death of this flu season on Dec. 21.

Overall, the Centers for Disease Control has reported a total of 11 pediatric death nationally this season.

Since September 30, 2018, more than 2,300 positive influenza tests have been reported to ADH, by health care providers.
