The new year begins a new administration for the City of Harrison as Mayor Elect Jerry Jackson will become Mayor in a swearing in ceremony at 11:00 at City Hall.

The special council meeting will also see the other recently elected officials sworn in as well as committee assignments for the upcoming year and the selection of Mayor Pro-Tem.

Jackson defeated incumbent Mayor Dan Sherrell in the November Election. Sherrell conducted his final meeting as Mayor last week and was presented with an award of appreciation for his service. Also recognized for their service were City Council Members John Eoff, Ryan Oswalt and Dena Taylor who did not seek re-election as well as retiring Fire Chief Marvin Holt and City Attorney Van Younes and departing Police Chief Paul Woodruff.
