Branson Man Faces Federal Drug Charges

by: Scott McCaulley

A Branson Man is facing federal charges of selling drugs linked to a fatal overdose and two other overdoses earlier this year.

According to court documents, Ryan Brynell was charged in Missouri Western District Court last week with attempted possession with intent to distrbute fentanyl.

According to a report in the Springfield News-Leader, the investigation against Brynell started in September when his name appeared in a series of text between him and Jeffery Baker of Branson when law enforcement was investigating Baker’s death due to a drug overdose. The text had indicated the two were meeting to complete a drug deal.

The investigation later uncovered two other overdoses allegedly related to drugs sold by Brynell.

Brynell is in custody and federal prosecutors are hoping to keep him there while the investigation continues according to the News-Leader report.
