Holiday Tournaments: Branson Eliminated, Forsyth Plays For Title, Arkansas Tournaments Final Day

A recap of Holiday Tournament Action on Friday and what is ahead as the tournaments enter their final days:

Blue and Gold/Pink and White
Both Branson teams were eliminated from those tournaments on Friday as the Pirates fell to Crane at the Blue and Gold 57-35 with the Lady Pirates lost to Jonesboro in the Pink and White 56-33. Crane will play Mount Vernon in a Consolation Final today at the Blue and Gold.

Walnut Grove
Forsyth will play for their second straight Walnut Grove Boys Tournament Title today after they knocked off Verona 76-67 in Friday’s Semi-final. Forsyth will play fellow Southwest Central League member Billings in the finals tonight at 7:30 as they upset top seed Fordland in the other semi-final 65-47. In the Girls Tournament, Hollister defeated Lockwood in the Consolation Final on Saturday Morning 54-45.

Galena and Reeds Spring will play each other in the third place game of the Girls Tournament this evening at 7:00 as both got victories in the consolation bracket on Friday as the Lady Bears beat Southwest 46-39 and the Lady Wolves ran by Marionville 66-37.

Lendel Thomas Classic
Harrison Goblins hold off Ashdown in the 49-48 in the semi-finals of the Boys Tournament while the Lady Goblins lose a close on to West Memphis 61-59.  The Goblins will play Forrest City for the title in Goblin Arena at 1:45 today while the Lady Goblins will play in the LT Gym at 12:30 for third against Earle.

Cornerstone Bank Holiday Hoops in Berryville
The Bergman Boys outlast the host Bobcats 71-66 in the semi-finals Friday and will play White County Central for the title this evening at 7:20 while Berryville will play Huntsville for third at 4:40. The Berryville Girls won their semi-final contest over Estem 49-46 to advance to the Title Game this evening at 6:00 as the Lady Bobcats will take on Mountain View. Other area teams in action at Berryville today includes the Green Forest Girls playing in the seventh place game against Hamburg this morning and the Bergman Girls playing Huntsville in the fifth place game at 12:40.
