The City of Harrison has closed down Lake Harrison/Minnie Harrison Park until further notice.

The lake is being drained in an effort to search for signs of John and Amy Villines who were swept away in flash flooding on Friday, November 30 in Harrison.

According to the Assistant Fire Chief Darrell Pace with the Harrison Fire Department, they are focusing their efforts on Lake Harrison.

A channel is being dug out around the side of the lake to release water faster.

John’s shirt and pants, as well as his ID, have been found.

A Boone County Judge has sent a declaration into the government to get state funding.

Harrison City Council has approved up to $400,000 for the process in hopes to get reimbursed.
