Our media partner Ozarksfirst.com reports the Branson School District is currently investigating two separate threats of violence against students in the last 24 hours.

The first incident involves a threat made on social media Monday, December 10th against the junior high school.

Local authorities were contacted immediately and an investigation began. The school district believes the threat to be non-credible.  On Tuesday morning, the district reported  someone has been identified as the source of the threat. That person’s identity has not been released.  Additional officers were placed on the campus this morning and will remain throughout the day to monitor activities.

The second incident involved an altercation on a school bus Monday afternoon.

School officials say one student threatened another student over social media which led to the altercation. One of the students used pepper spray during the altercation and the bus was evacuated. During this time the school transportation department called 911 and local authorities as well as an ambulance arrived on scene. All students on the bus were checked by the ambulance personnel.
