Abandoned horse investigation in Stone County leads to an arrest

A release from Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader says an ongoing investigation into the discovery of two abandoned horses near Persimmon Hill leads to an arrest.  While trying to contact the owner of the horses, deputies found other animals that appeared to be neglected.  A second search warrant was issued Tuesday at a residence on Point 18 Lane in the Trace Hollow area where several dogs, cats, and chickens were seized by deputies and members of the Missouri Humane Society Animal Rescue Team.

During the execution of the warrant, deputies located narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia.  Another search warrant was obtained to seize the illegal narcotics and the resident at the location was arrested and taken to The Stone County Jail.

Deputies will present paperwork to the Prosecuting Attorney’s office in Stone County requesting charges against the person arrested.
