A two vehicle crash in Missouri Tuesday has killed a man from Harrison.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Richard Slankard, 37, from Harrison, was driving south on US 71 a few miles south of Pineville SW Missouri’s McDonald County when he was rear-ended causing his vehicle to overturn off the right side of the road.

Slankard was pronounced dead at the scene. The Highway Patrol report says he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the second vehicle, Trey Dennis of Pineville, was tested for alcohol but was not injured in the accident.

This is Missouri Troop D’s 121st fatality in 2018.
