Ribbon Cutting Officially Re-opens Welcome Center

Although the Arkansas Department of Transportation Welcome Center on Highway 65 north of Harrison re-opened back in September, a ribbon cutting was held late Friday morning to officially open the center after having been closed and moved temporarily for reconstruction back in 2016.

ARDOT along with the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism hosted the Ribbon Cutting for the facility that features information on regional attractions, events, and weather and also acts as a Rest Area with Picnic Tables.

The project originally was slated for completion in September of 2017 but the contractor on the project, Dayco Construction of Damascus, had some issues with material certification which forced delays on the project.
