A former Christian County Auditor has pleaded guilty and been sentenced for crimes she committed while serving as auditor.
Lacey Hart was charged with 15 various misdemeanors in 2016. Through an Alford Plea deal 12 of those were dismissed. The remaining three charges included two counts of being a court clerk and failing to perform an act or duty required by law and one count of violating certain provision’s regarding certified public accountants.
Hart received a suspended imposition of sentence with 40 hours of community service and three years probation, according to her attorney Dee Wampler. She was also ordered to pay a $100 fine.
Hart was booked and released from the Greene County Jail on the charge of violating any provision regarding certified public accountants, which means she used the CPA designation knowing she did not have a valid certificate or permit.
