Branson Fire Department Recognizes Fire Prevention Week

The Branson Fire Department, along with firefighters around the country have been spending this week, educating the community about the importance of fire safety in recognition of Fire Prevention Week.

The department has been stopping by schools, homes and other community organizations to demonstrate fire safety in a fun and entertaining way.

According to statistics from the National Fire Protection Association, residential fires have decreased over the past few decades.

However, fire deaths are up across the nation by 10%.

Branson Fire Chief Ted Martin says they plan to continue their fire safety education all month long.
