A Rogersville woman recently accepted a plea deal for a lesser sentence in the 2017 shooting death of a man near Branson last year.

According to online court records, Najee Michelle Donson, 26, accused of shooting Chad A. Deadmond, 32, near the intersection of U.S. 65 and Rose O’Neill Drive, north of Branson, pleaded guilty Oct. 1 in Taney County Court to voluntary manslaughter and armed criminal action. She was originally charged with second-degree murder, but the charge was changed as part of the plea agreement.

She is scheduled for sentencing Dec. 4, and faces up to 20 years behind bars.
