When the first Fall Food Drive collected over 47,000 Pounds of Food last year, 1029 the Z Morning Brew Host Lisa Johnson and others with Ozark Mountain Media Group and the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas wondered if that much food would be collected again. It turns out the people of the Harrison area upped the ante!

This year’s Fall Food Drive collected 67, 408 pounds of food when the drive officially shutdown around 12:30 Monday afternoon though more donations came in for a couple of hours after the official end of the event.

As she did last year, Lisa Johnson lived on the Wal-Mart Parking Lot in Harrison starting on Friday September 28 and broadcast live during the Food Drive with this year’s event also including special shows at Hudson’s Supermarket, Edwards Grocery, and Main Street Merchandise Outlet.

The over 67, 000 pounds of food collected, which also figured in cash donations in excess of $3500, will go to benefit many food pantries and organizations in Boone and Newton Counties through the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas.

Ozark Mountain Media Group and the Food Drive Sponsors, the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, and all the organizations would like to thank the residence of the area for their generous donations this year.
