Friday Football Week Five Preview

It’s home games for three of the four Missouri Lakes Area teams while all three of the Arkansas Lakes Area teams find themselves on the road for High School Football Action tonight:

Joplin at Branson
After the near upset of Webb City last week, the Pirates face a new foe tonight as new Central Ozark Conference member Joplin visits Pirates Stadium. Both teams are 2-2 whose records both includes losses to Webb City and wins over Republic. Tonight’s game can be heard on 106.3 KRZK.

Catholic at Reeds Spring
The undefeated Wolves entertain the 2-2 Irish tonight for Homecoming at Wolves Stadium. The Wolves wins include road wins at Seneca and a one point win over previously unbeaten Mount Vernon while the Irish also have a win over Seneca as well as at Hollister. Game broadcast will be on MY 100.1 FM KOMC.

Hollister at Marshfield
Coming off their homecoming win over McDonald County, the 2-2 Tigers are heading to Marshfield to face a Blue Jay squad that also has a win over McDonald County as well as Monett to comprise their 2-2 record. Tonight’s game will be broadcast on 98.1 FM and AM 1220 KCAX.

Pierce City at Forsyth
The Panthers continue to seek out their first win of the season having faced four teams that so far have a combined 14-2 record. The task doesn’t get any easier tonight as the Panthers host undefeated and Class 1 State Ranked Pierce City. Tonight’s game kicks-off at 7:00 with a replay of the game to be heard Saturday Morning at 9:00 on 98.1 FM and AM 1220 KCAX.

Harrison at Morrilton
The Goblins are coming off a bye week after taking an advantage of a provision in Arkansas that allowed schools the option of starting a week early. The Goblins won that first week over Pea Ridge before coming up with equally big wins over Mountain Home and Siloam Springs. Tonight’s opening opponent in 5A West play is Morrilton, who also had a bye last week after a 1-2 start to the season.

Berryville at Shiloh Christian
The Bobcats will take a 2-1 record into tonight’s contest after beating West Fork and Yellville-Summit with a loss to Huntsville in between the two wins. Shiloh Christian also is 2-1 on the season.

Green Forest at Prairie Grove
The Tigers suffered a close loss to Yellville-Summit and a big loss at Commerce, Oklahoma before notching win one on the season with a one point victory over West Fork last week. Prairie Grove also enters tonight’s contest with a 1-2 record and also picked up their first win last week, beating Pottsville.
