BRANSON, Mo. – Firefighters extinguish an RV fire on the Ozark Mountain High Road north of Branson Tuesday evening.
According to Western Taney County Assistant Fire Chief Jim Single, crews responded to the location about a mile south of the intersection of Highway 248 to find a motorhome pulling a small SUV heavily involved in flames, spreading to the vehicle.
A second alarm was requested due to the size of the fire and distance from a water source. Southern Stone County Fire District responded in mutual aid.
Single says it took about an hour for crews to extinguish the blaze. The motorhome was destroyed and the SUV sustained heavy damage.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol closed one southbound lane as firefighters worked to put out the flames and then remove the vehicles from the roadway.
Single says the fire is believed to have started in the engine compartment of the motorhome.
