Branson Woman Killed in Monday Night Home Fire

BRANSON, Mo. – A woman from Branson is killed in a residential structure fire Monday night in Branson.

Branson Fire Chief Ted Martin reports units were dispatched to a home on the 800 Block of Shady Drive, just east of Highway 165 near Fall Creek. Upon arrival, crews discovered one bedroom of the home well involved in flames and smoke showing from the exterior of the home.

Martin says crews made an indirect attack on a bedroom of the home. After firefighters knocked down the flames, they accessed the home via the bedroom window to search for residents:

 

 

The name of the victim is not being released at this time pending notifications of relatives.

Martin shares the cause of the fire is unknown, but the area of origin has been determined. He adds the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office has been called in to assist with the fire investigation.

Martin shares they will also be working with the victim’s husband, who was at home at the time of the fire, to help determine the cause. He adds the fire was contained to the bedroom, but there was a lot of smoke damage inside the home.

Mutual aid to the scene was provided by Western Taney County Fire, Southern Stone County Fire, Taney County Ambulance District and the Branson Police Department. No additional injuries are being reported.
