BRANSON, Mo. – After months of anticipation, Silver Dollar City debuts its newest 26-million dollar attraction as it opens its gates for the 2018 Season.
The world’s fastest, steepest and tallest complete-circuit spinning roller coaster, Time Traveler is now fully in operation at Silver Dollar City.
Time Traveler is the introduction of a new era in roller coasters, according to SDC Co-Founder Pete Herschend, who says while he’s been on dozens of roller coasters over the years, he’s never rode a coaster quite like this:
Officially announced in August of last year, Time Traveler is also a record breaking coaster. It reaches top speeds of 50-point-3 miles per hour, a top height of 100 feet and features a 10-story, 90-degree vertical drop, a 95-foot tall loop, a dive loop, a vertical loop and a zero-G roll.
Time Traveler is the result of two years of planning and construction and the creation of renowned coaster manufacturer Mack (Mock) Rides, headquartered in Waldkirch, Germany. Mack Rides CEO Christian Von Elverfeldt says the idea seemed simple at first, but little did they realize the challenges that were awaiting them:
The official 2018 Season at Silver Dollar City begins today (Wednesday, March 14th,) with Spring Ride Days. Additional Time Traveler facts and ticket information can all be found here.
