GALENA, Mo. – Formal charges are filed against a man and a woman from the St. Louis area who reportedly rammed a patrol vehicle twice during a pursuit with Stone County Sheriff’s Deputies early Sunday morning.
The driver of the suspect vehicle, 34-year-old Joshua Drennen of Desoto, is charged with two counts of assault or attempted assault on a special victim, armed criminal action and resisting arrest.
The passenger, 45-year-old Shiela Graves, is charged with one count of assault and one count of resisting arrest.
Both are jailed in Galena on 250-thousand dollars bond and are scheduled to return to court on April 10th.
The pursuit began near Galena and ended near Cape Fair, after deputies deployed spike strips and the suspect vehicle crashed just north of the intersection of Highways 76 and 173.
Drennen, who had multiple warrants out for his arrest, fled on foot before being apprehended by deputies.
Sheriff Doug Rader says no officers were injured in the chase, but the patrol vehicle that was rammed twice sustained severe damages.
