FLIPPIN, Ark. – Charges are filed this week against a man from Flippin accused of assault for what he says was in the name of love.
Court records show 33-year-old Raymond Spangler is charged with felony aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief.
According to his arrest affidavit from January 17th, Spangler rammed his car into his girlfriend’s former lover’s vehicle on State Highway 101.
The deputy at the scene says Spangler admitted to trying to stop the vehicle but says it was to check on the well being of his girlfriend who was in the other man’s car.
At the scene, Spangler told police he was making sure his girlfriend really wanted to go with the other man.
He is currently out of jail on a 10-thousand dollar bond.
Judge Jason Duffy ruled the conditions of Spangler’s bond include that he does not make contact with his girlfriend or the other driver in this case.
