Suspect on the Run, Wanted for Abducting Woman in Nixa

NIXA, Mo. – A woman abducted from the Walmart parking lot in Nixa Sunday evening, is reported safe; but the suspect wanted for her abduction remains on the run.

According to a release from the City of Nixa, a man in a white car, with a sunroof, followed a woman into the Nixa Walmart parking lot, pulled her out of her vehicle, threw her over his shoulder, put her in his car and drove off.

The call for the abduction came in at 8:57 p.m. and by 10:28 p.m. the woman had been located safe in Nixa, but police continue to search for the suspect. He is described as a white male, five feet five inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a tan carhart type coat and a black fox hat. He was last seen possibly in the Rogersville area.

The suspect and the victim reportedly knew each other. The police say they do not believe this was a random crime, according to the press release.
