HARRISON, Ark. – A new council member is elected at the most recent Harrison City Council meeting.
The council has been a member short after Ward 1 Position 1 Alderman Brian Herring resigned in November.
Both Chris Head and Art Swanson applied for the spot last month and it had been determined they were both qualified for the position. Alderman Mitch Magness:
Harrison Mayor Dan Sherrell checked with the audience at the courthouse to make sure no one else wanted to be considered for the office. The room was silent and then the full council went into a ten-minute executive session.
When aldermen entered back into the open session, a motion to approve Head as the new council member was unanimously approved.
The council also had to fill the Ward 2 Position 2 seat vacated by former Alderman David Wilson. John Eoff received that appointment in November.
