NIXA, Mo. – The Nixa Parks Department has received a donation of nearly 51 acres of land from Eoff Family Farms, to be used for a new city park.

According to a news release, brothers Stephen and DuWayne Eoff wanted to donate the property from their grandfather’s century farm in order to preserve their family history, rather than see it developed for other purposes.

The land is located off AA Highway along the James River. The city is going to name the park the Eoff Family Century Farm Park.

Nixa Parks Director Matt Crouse says master planning for the site development is getting underway, and he’s looking to provide some key amenities and more recreational opportunities for the community.

The Nixa City Council has authorized Mayor Brian Steele to sign documents related to the acceptance of the land donation.
