Dump Truck Overturns on Hwy. 76 in Kirbyville

KIRBYVILLE, Mo. – A Kirbyville man escapes with minor injuries after the dump truck he was driving overturns on Highway 76 in Kirbyville this (Tuesday) morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 44-year-old Peter Swenson-Barksdale was eastbound at 10:13 a.m., when he lost control of his 2017 Mack dump truck, which traveled off the roadway, then re-entered the roadway and overturned.

Swenson-Barksdale was transported by Taney County EMS to Cox Medical Center Branson.



Central Taney County Fire Protection District responded to the scene and assisted with the cleanup, along with personnel from MoDOT and Tom Boyce Excavating. The contents of the dump truck spilled across Highway K and into a ditch.

The Taney County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control since the accident occurred in a high hazard area.
