BRANSON, Mo. – The Salvation Army in Branson will be opening its warming center at 11-14 Stanley Boulevard tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Corps Officers Linda McCormick says thanks to help from Jesus was Homeless Public Relations Director Mark Powell, the shelter will be open overnight so people can escape from the cold.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperature is expected to sit at a low around 2 degrees with wind chill values as low as negative eight. McCormick says others can help the Salvation Army by donating lightly used heavy blankets to the shelter. Monetary donations are also welcome.

In addition, folks in need are welcome to escape the freezing temperatures from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at that same location in Branson.
