LAMAR, Ark. – A high school basketball coach from Johnson County, Arkansas is charged with DWI and endangering the welfare of a minor following his arrest on Friday.
According to a release from Arkansas State Police, troopers were notified shortly after 5 p.m. that 51-year-old Kevin Kyzer was suspected of being intoxicated while driving a Lamar school bus with students onboard.
Troopers located the bus near Altus around 5:30 p.m. and Kyzer was taken into custody without incident.
School officials arrived at the scene and made arrangements to transport nine students back to Lamar.
Kyzer was booked in the Franklin County Detention Center.
