BRANSON, Mo. – The Branson Salvation Army is sending out a call for heavy blankets to give the homeless this weekend.
This year, the Salvation Army will not be able to open its doors to folks overnight when temperatures are expected to drop to sub-freezing temperatures, so Captain Linda McCormick says a warm coat, gloves, hats, and blankets will help out those who don’t have a place to go the most:
According to McCormick, the closest overnight shelter is in Springfield. While she would like to open her doors, she is also in need of a group of volunteers willing to spend the night at the shelter:
People can drop off donations at the Main office for the Salvation Army located at 11-14 Stanley Boulevard in Branson. People in need of these items are encouraged to visit the Salvation Army Thrift store located at 203 West Atlantic.
If you have questions for McCormick, you can give her a call at 417-339-4434.
