A game that had been anticipated for weeks did not disappoint on Tuesday night as two of the top five teams in NAIA Division hooked-up at College of the Ozarks as the fourth ranked Lady Bobcats hosted second ranked Concordia of Nebraska. In a game that went back and fourth, it was the visitors from Nebraska that had the final say winning in overtime 103-101.
Both teams had brief double digit leads as the Lady Bulldogs started the game on a 10-0 run while C of O led by 10 at half and briefly had an 11 point advantage, the game was close most of the way. It looked like the Lady Bobcats were poised to send Concordia to their first loss of the season but the Lady Bulldogs hit a three in the final 30 seconds to tie, then held off the Lady Bobcats in the overtime period to give the home team their first loss of the season.
Cassidy Johnson led C of O with 24 points while Kelcie Cleeton tallied her seventh double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Dani Hoppes and Quinn Wragge each scored 22 to pace Concordia.
The Lady Bobcats return to action at the Bellevue Classic in Nebraska December 29-30.
