BRANSON WEST, Mo. — KOLR 10 has confirmed that two people have died in a small aircraft crash near Reeds Spring Sunday evening.

The crash occurred in a pasture at 1974 Yocum Pond Rd., about one mile from the Branson West airport.

“It was coming out of Kansas to the Branson Airport from what family members have told us,” said Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader.

The two deceased, a man and a woman, were the only two in the single-engine aircraft, according to the Stone County Sheriff. The identities are not being released until next of kin can be notified.

Folks living in the area reported seeing a plane flying very low and circling three times before it went down. However, the cause of the crash has not been determined.

The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District and the Stone County Sheriff’s Office investigated the scene for about three hours.

The Federal Aviation Administration out of Kansas City will be on scene tomorrow to determine what caused the plane crash.

The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District said in a Facebook post that Stone County dispatch was reporting multiple calls of an aircraft down at about 6:39 p.m.
